Trials with human volunteers

The comparison of imaging performance between novel radiotracers and their available counterparts will happen during this workpackage, using a conventional PET scanner. As soon as the ProVision scanner becomes available, the image sensitivity between the whole-body PET scanner and ProVision will be studied. As the project’s main goal is to detect as efficiently as possible the primary prostate tumours at an early stage, radiotracers with various clearance mechanisms will be compared.
The objectives of this workpackage are:
1- To assess the performance of ProVision in real patients with prostate cancer and compare with the results taken with traditional PET scanner.
2- To establish the convenience of using the dedicated radiolabeled probes developed in this project and select the probe that yields optimal results in terms of sensitivity and minimum background noise.
3- To establish the dosage level for the dedicated radiolabeled probes and the test time.
